Well, the editor won't let me write anything as far as the article goes so I'll put it in the comments.
This is NOT the answer to what the African men think of as an illness. This is no less than torture of a specific group of women with no rights of their own. Do they have gay men? Is their punishment/treatment the same?
I don't advocate war or interference in the business of other countries until it comes to human rights. I know alot of people don't agree with US troops in Uganda, but these atrocities need to be addressed with force if necessary to stop the people who think it's right to torture someone for living/thinking differently.
I normally don't seed articles but this one burned me up this morning and the eyes of the world need to be turned on this issue. It makes me wonder what we don't know about what these women go thru.

Hello Dare, I agree with you. This is a heinous crime. Gay men are treated no better. They are beaten, murdered or executed in many places of Africa. I am glad that CNN has to courage to run the article and put this topic in the headlines. I need to do more work to keep this topic in the headlines. That is if I don't get bounced from the Vine for running an article yesterday.
"Corrective rape" is a violent hate crime and it's perpatrators should have to pay a heavy price. It is a Crime against Humanity. It makes my blood boil too Thanks for bringing this topic to the attention of the Vine and the group.

I see you found it and I just wanted to say you're a star Dare!

A star that may be flaming out since I posted it to FB, LOL! But it is good info that needs to be shared imo, and I hate being blindsided so I figure others do too.

I hope we're both OK. They'll probably just take down the article off my page. BP are powerful people and will most likely have a fit. Even the photos, which I got off of bing will give them heartburn. We are talking about a company which charges rent for advertisement signage, a square foot. I want you to know that what I printed is from "reliable sources". Boston Properties has a web page, they are big money. I think I'm dust come Monday. I'll get to your new article before then. :)

I checked my FB page and it has already been yanked from OW's FB wall, but not before some people saw it because I'm following a little spat between those who think it's right and those who think it's wrong on my page. We'll see what happens!

Really? Like I said I'm dust........ If you can fill me in on what they think is not right. Who would yank it? Boston Properties......City of San Francisco. HMMMMM.
Sorry Dare. I accept full responsibility for the article and it's contents. Use this comment as a disclaimer if you need too. I didn't mean to endanger your NV status. Mom always said I was trouble.

My mom said the same thing, lol. I'm not worried about anything and you have no responsibility for what I post, so don't worry. If they pull it from NV I'd be surprised, the only thing that might have helped would be to post links to the sources you used making a "news" piece instead of an "opinion" piece. We're supposed to "Get Smarter Here" so if my NV status or yours is in jeopardy, they need to write their own disclaimer ;)
There may be many reasons they pulled it, I would think OW would have to be the one to do that, they may be using it to their own advantage by pulling it for now, who knows, but it's still floating around out there in cyberspace somewhere.

LOL. Reminds me of Watergate! Both of our moms were wrong. We're good people.
